Introducing Deal Estate

Hello

I’ve been working on Deal Estate, a solo-developed city-building puzzle roguelike about placing building cards, shaping a small grid, chaining multipliers and chasing bigger and bigger scores. The idea is to combine the satisfaction of a run-based deckbuilder with the puzzle of laying out a city.

Each run is about more than just drawing strong cards. Where you place things matters. Different building types interact with each other in different ways, and the goal is to build layouts that create high scoring multipliers in order to hit the round targets.

One of the main systems in the game is the Estate Plan mechanic, which rewards specific patterns and combinations on the board. That means runs become a mix of improvisation and planning, where you’re trying to adapt to what you draw while still building toward something bigger.

Between rounds, you can shape your run further through a shop system, with policies and vouchers that push you toward certain strategies. There’s also longer-term progression through unlocks, achievements, and daily challenges.

At its core, Deal Estate is about building a city, spotting opportunities, and turning a small grid into something surprisingly powerful. It’s still in development, but it’s reached the point where it feels like the right time to start properly sharing it.

There’s still a lot more to share, and future devlogs will dig into the behind-the-scenes side of Deal Estate, including design choices, development progress, and what I learn along the way.
